Overview
The Oaks at Whitaker Glen – Mayview skilled nursing center has temporarily ceased operations to accommodate the construction of a new skilled nursing center. The new state-of-the-art center will offer the high standard of patient care that our loved ones deserve. We worked with patients and their families to assess their needs and preferences for re-location and to ensure a smooth transition of care. As such, all patients have been transferred from the location. Should residents at The Oaks at Whitaker Glen independent living apartments, still in operation, need skilled nursing care, they will also receive priority placement at a PruittHealth health care center.
Once completed, the new, state-of-the-art Oaks at Whitaker Glen – Mayview will promote best practices and high patient care standards. Inspired by the surrounding community that has embraced The Oaks at Whitaker Glen for 70 years, the new Oaks at Whitaker Glen – Mayview skilled nursing center will offer all-private rooms with showers, enhanced rehabilitation services, multiple dining and living spaces, a spa and salon, and a theater for patients and residents. Further, The Oaks at Whitaker Glen – Mayview will host a new welcome center with an enhanced entrance, and a new outdoor pool and dining area.
Ultimately, The Oaks at Whitaker Glen campus will add assisted living accommodations and an expanded home health agency to the current independent living apartments and skilled nursing center to maintain a continuing care retirement community (CCRC). To promote a deeper sense of community, The Oaks at Whitaker Glen CCRC also will feature upscale retail and dining options, pharmacy services, and expanded recreational spaces. The Oaks at Whitaker Glen - Mayview skilled nursing center anticipates welcoming patients to new accommodations in Fall 2024. The phased CCRC construction plan is slated for completion later that year. Please note: This temporary closure does not affect The Oaks at Whitaker Glen independent living location, which is on the same campus. It remains open to meet our community’s independent senior living needs.
