Norcross, Georgia (April 1, 2020) – PruittHealth – Eastside in Macon, Ga., PruittHealth – Crestwood in Valdosta, Ga. and PruittHealth – Carolina Point in Durham, N.C. are now operating at Alert Code Red status. Each of the three facilities has one patient who tested presumptive positive for COVID-19, and all three patients were transferred to local hospitals due to elevated symptoms. PruittHealth is awaiting formal confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and has been in communication with the affected patients’ families, physicians, and local health departments.
By initiating Alert Code Red for these facilities, PruittHealth has continued to implement enhanced infection control protocols, including increasing cleaning frequency, postponing communal activities, ceasing visitation, and screening staff and patients daily. Additionally, PruittHealth – Eastside, PruittHealth – Crestwood and PruittHealth – Carolina Point will further restrict staff to only essential personnel and new admissions will cease. PruittHealth continues to urge staff to avoid contact with those who are sick and consult with a physician if they do not feel well.
