What Is The Treatment For Heart Failure?

Treatment depends on the cause of Heart Failure.  There are multiple types of drugs to help treat Heart Failure including beta-blockers, diuretics, and calcium channel blockers.  But other options that do not include medications are dietary changes-low sodium, low cholesterol diet, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol levels and to relieve your body of excess fluid.

Surgery is also another form of treatment.  Surgery is used to stop further damage caused by Heart Failure.  These forms of surgery include:

  • Bypass surgery
  • Left ventricular assist device
  • Heart valve surgery
  • Infarct exclusion surgery
  • Heart transplant
